Product Details

Pyrus communis Conference, also known as the Conference Pear, is a popular edible fruiting pear that was first introduced in 1885 and won the RHS Award of Garden Merit in 2002.

The Conference Pear is quite early to flower, producing a display of single white flowers just before the glossy, green foliage emerges.  The fruit begins to develop over the summer period, ripening to a sweet and juicy green and golden colour by the time they are ready to pick in from October onwards.

At maturity this tree forms a small, oval shaped tree.  It is a fairly tough performer, coping with a variety of soil conditions including clay.

Pyrus communis Conference is self-fertile; meaning that a fertilisation partner is not essential, however fruiting will be improved if a compatible partner is nearby.  Pyrus Doyenne du Comice is a pollination partner of this pear which is stocked by Barcham Trees.

If you live in an area prone to rabbits or deer then we recommend rabbit guards for these trees.
