Product Details

First raised in Essex in 1949, this hugely popular eating apple has rosy flesh and a sharp but crisply sweet taste. It was a bumper harvest for UK apples in the autumn of 2015 and a piece on BBC Radio 5 labelled it ‘superb’ in a live taster trial. Spring blossom, pink in bud and white when developed, is lovely and its good sized green leaves turn to yellow in the autumn.

Malus Discovery thrives on most free draining soils including heavier clay soils. If you want a tree for its spring flower but have soil too heavy to suit cherry, then Malus is a great alternative, especially if you get autumn fruit thrown in for the autumn! It is a small growing tree so is suited for most gardens.

If you live in an area prone to rabbits or deer then we recommend rabbit guards for these trees.

Mature height: 3-7m
