This is a clone of the Small-Leaved Lime that gives a uniformity option over straight Tilia cordata.

This American clone derived from the cultivar ‘Euclid’.

A selection from a Boston Park, it has been in cultivation in the UK since the early 1960s.

A winner of the Award of Garden Merit in 2002, it is a very popular choice for urban planting where its uniformity is preferred over the native Tilia cordata.

It maintains a strong leader and well branched crown through to maturity, which distinguishes it over other selections, as the premier clone of Tilia cordata.

It thrives well on most soils and copes readily with harsh urban environments given enough soil to exploit.

At maturity I would liken it to a great example of Tilia cordata at the same size but with Greenspire you get this every time.

Clonal selections give uniformity whereas seed grown trees have a significant degree of genetic variation.
