This coastal specialist originally from South West Europe has now naturalised along many miles of the English coastline.
A great tree to tolerate and diffuse wind.
Better known as a shrub, we grow it as a full standard with a clear stem of 1.8m, best suited for coastal towns or specimen planting inland.
Dark brown branches support vivid green foliage and pink fluffy flowers in summer that are borne from new season’s wood.
Particularly useful on saline soils.
Mature height: 5-7m
