Robinia Pseudoacacia 'Fastigiata'

This rather curious and unusual False Acacia was introduced in the early 1840s and is sometimes referred to as ‘Pyramidalis’.

Best suited to sheltered gardens or urban courtyards, it is a slow growing slender tree that can be very useful for planting into areas where space is at a premium.

The branch unions can grow with included bark and for Robinia, which are brittle at the best of times, this can be problematical, and so our advice is to not plant on exposed sites.

It thrives on most soils, and tolerates urban pollution.
