The flower of Prunus Ukon in detail.
Introduced in the early 1900s this unusual cherry won the Award of Garden Merit in 2002.
Sometimes imported as top grafted from the continent. This is a false economy in the long term, as the top can outgrow the bottom.
We would advise base grafted trees.
A vigorous, rounded, medium size tree with a rather spreading crown, it has unusual pale yellow flowers, tinged with green and occasionally flushed with pink.
They are semi-double and work well with the young bronze foliage.
Its large green leaves produce a great autumn display of red and purple.
Mature height: 5-10m
