A splendid Flowering Cherry - very free flowering!
This wonderful Prunus yedoensis cross is a great choice for an urban garden or street.
It won the Award of Merit in 1939 and the updated Award of Garden Merit in 2002.
It has relatively small leaves for a cherry and requires very little maintenance for so much ornamental interest.
Pandora makes only a small tree, but its ascending branches, which give its broadly columnar habit, become smothered by pale pink blossom in March and early April.
The bronze-red leaves in autumn also provide a wonderful show.
It thrives best on free draining sites.
Mature height: 5-10m
