A native, of the Himalayas, it was introduced to Britain in the early 1820's.
A native of the Himalayas, this wonderfully attractive soft needled pine was introduced to Britain in the early 1820s and is also known by many as Pinus griffithii.
A winner of the Award of Garden Merit in 2002 and the Award of Merit in 1979, it is a worthy subject for any large garden.
Elegant and most ornamental, this large, rather conical tree has blue-green foliage and pendent cones which become covered in resin.
It is moderately lime tolerant but shallow chalk soils should be avoided.
It offers a unique softness to a large garden and so easily draws the eye.
