This form of the Tulip Tree has yellow variegation to its leaves.
This form of the Tulip Tree has yellow variegation to its leaves and was introduced in the early 1900s.
The British champion I have heard is in Stourhead and stands at over 25 metres tall.
The foliage is at its most striking in the spring. Growing rather smaller than the species, this is a medium tree with a pyramidal habit.
The bright yellow variegation tends to turn greenish-yellow by the end of the summer.
It is deep rooted and wind resistant, and does well on most fertile soils.
Lovely for parkland settings.
