A Sweet Gum with purple autumn colour.
This lovely Sweet Gum is broad leaved and late to colour in the autumn, starting with the top third of the tree which turns a remarkable purple.
A recent introduction, selected in the Netherlands. Thea is in many respects similar to Lane Roberts, but as a medium to large tree, is a little taller.
It has a good, conical form and distinctive purple foliage in the autumn.
good choice as a street or garden tree, it does best in fertile, well drained soils, but does not thrive in chalky soils.
Mature height: 15-20m
