One of the very best golden variegated hollies.
One of the very best golden variegated hollies.
It was derived from a cutting of Ilex x Hendersonii in Edinburgh in 1884.
It won the First Class Certificate in 1898 and the Award of Garden Merit in 2002.
Tolerant of coastal conditions and air pollution, this medium, slow growing tree of pyramidal form has vivid golden margins to its virtually spineless leaves.
Very good for gardens, female, with reddish-brown fruits.
Mature height: 5-10m
