The Weeping Ash makes a fine specimen tree in a park.
The Weeping Ash makes a fine specimen tree in a park or large garden.
Dating back to the 1700s, there are several fine examples of this architectural weeping tree in the UK but as most were planted in the Victorian era they are mostly restricted to country houses or estates.
It always looks unimpressive as a nursery tree and needs several years’ worth of growth to define its wonderful weeping shape.
It thrives in most soils and will tolerate windswept, exposed sites, coastal locations and air pollution.
