Introduced by the Forestry Commission in the mid 1940s, this cultivar of the Common Ash is an improved form, well suited to urban plantings.

It tends to retain its central leader for a many years more than common Ash, so giving it more structural strength.

A medium to large tree of pyramidal habit, at maturity it is difficult to tell apart from the species.

We recommend it for avenue and street planting.

It thrives in most soils and will tolerate windswept, exposed sites, coastal locations and air pollution.
