A golden-leaved form of the Fastigiate Beech.
A fairly large, columnar tree, which looks good from spring right through to autumn.
In spring the leaves are golden yellow, turning pale green in summer before reverting to a golden yellow in autumn.
Raised in the late 1960's, it looks especially attractive planted against a dark background and is good as a specimen in parks and as a verge tree.
Beech thrives just about anywhere other than exposed coasral locations.
It does well in most reasonably fertile, well drained soils.
Mature Height: 15-20m
