A really hardy and tough smaller to medium tree, capable of coping with cold, wet soils and exposed situations.
Grey Alder is a fast grower, well suited to industrial areas and street plantings. Its pointed grey leaves readily distinguish it from Alnus glutinosa.
It is best on calareous soils and tolerates ait pollution.
