This chestnut is a cross between Aesculus x carnea and Aesculus hippocastanum.
A splendid, large tree with pale pink flowers in late spring. This back cross, which does not produce seed, was raised in France in the mid 1890s. Very good for parks, planted in avenues and other open spaces.
It thrives in all soils and tolerates air pollution.
