Smaller than the species and much slower growing, this top worked cultivar forms a round and dense crown. The young leaves in spring are a wonderful shell pink, hardening to light green by June. An excellent street tree and for where space is limited.

It tolerates air pollution and thrives in most soils, and is particularly useful for coastal sites where it can make an effective defence against strong winds and salt-laden air.
