A strikingly handsome cultivar of the Norway maple named after the Drummond Nursery of Stirling in Scotland.
In cultivation since 1903, this form produces magnificently variegated foliage which has a wide, creamy white margin. It is widely known in North America as the harlequin maple. Any shoots which show signs of reversion are best removed. A medium to large tree with a rounded form.
It does well on most soil types, tolerates air pollution and resists drought.
Mature height: 15-20m
