A lovely cut leaf deep purple Japanese maple that was raised in Holland around 1950 and won the Award of Garden Merit in 2002.
It is a strong growing form with good autumn colour.
We grow this as a full standard tree with a rounded crown so it is best suited for gardens and parks. It thrives on most soils.
When grown under the shade of other trees the leaves are more dark green that purple so make sure it has plenty of light to trigger the true colour of the summer foliage display.
Mature Height: 5-10m
