



The bark is veined with a hint of yellow when young and it is a native of Western Asia to Himalaya.
Tip die back is commonly seen on this genera during eastablishment, sometimes causing a complete collapse of the plant, and this is generally caused by verticillium.
This fungus accounts for many in the maple family and is carried on water so is difficult to avoid.
Like Acer rubrum, the susceptibility is probably caused by inadequate availability of trace elements such as maganese.
