This fairly new American cultivar of the field maple is also known as Evelyn.

Queen Elizabeth™ is fast growing, has a relatively narrow habit and is larger and darker leaved than the species. The ascending branches are produced at angle of 45° to the dominant central leader.

It does best in rich, well drained soils, but does well in virtually any soil type, and will readily tolerate drought, soil compaction and air pollution. An excellent choice as a street tree, it has a tighter habit than A. campestre 'Elsrijk'.
