Clay Soils


It is important to select the correct species when the destination soil is predominantly clay.

There are number of species that can withstand the conditions afforded by a clay soil. The following are recommended by Barcham:

• Carpinus betulus

• Fraxinus excelsior

• Malus Rudolph

• Platanus x hispanica

• Quercus robur
