19th April - 21st May

17 May 2010Cold night temperatures have made it a slow start to the growing season but with temperatures set to rise through to the Chelsea Flower Show the trees are beginning to storm away into full canopy. Generally speaking, if you get night temperatures over 10 degrees celsius you will be in for a riot of growth this time of year.
We exhibited at the Grand Design Show at Excel and sold 201 hardback copies of our reference guide "It's time for trees". Our trees are being delivered in volume to the Chelsea Flower Show this week and if you are visiting the event be sure to drop in to say hello on our stand EA82A. We will also be at the Hampton Court Flower Show, combining our trees with the Arboricultural Association's stand to raise the importance of tree planting.
This dry spring has necessitated the broadcast of one and a half inches of water via water canon onto our newly planted field stock to establish the crop. It is a vital time of year for watering so if you purchased any of our stock this winter please give it a good water before the end of May to give the trees a good headstart.
The final preparations are underway for our big seminar on the 9th June and we have over 400 arborists with invitaions to attend. If you wanted to be on the reserve list please contact keith@barchamtrees.co.uk for inclusion. We are in for a busy couple of months.....
I'll be at Chelsea on the 24th to 26th May so see you then!
All the best
Mike
