Barcham trees

Barcham Trees is the largest container tree nursery in Europe with over 80,000 individual trees selected and containerised each year.
The containerisation of trees ensures each tree leaves the nursery and arrives with the customer with a full, healthy and undamaged root system. This ensures that each tree becomes established in it’s final planting position quickly and with a minimum of post planting stress. Each tree is guaranteed for one year providing recommended planting and maintenance advice is followed.

Trees for containerisation are carefully selected to meet the exacting demands of the modern market. Each tree containerised is subject to a rigorous quality control regime with any tree not meeting the Barcham specification rejected. As a consequence Barcham are confident that all trees supplied will not only be of the highest quality but offer the greatest potential for functional and aesthetic satisfaction.

Barcham has pioneered the development of the white container which prevents tree root systems from girdling and eventually strangling themselves, a problem with conventional containerisation methods. Recently Barcham has introduced the ‘Light Pot’ which incorporates the potential for use as a root barrier, a mulch mat and water reservoir. The white container also ensures ease of transport and on site movement as well as keeping the root system intact and protected during the journey from the nursery to final planting site.

The Barcham sales team is one of the most experienced and knowledgeable in the UK with a wealth of experience in all markets sectors and a keen appreciation of the specific requirements of individuals irrespective of their professional or private background. This experience and knowledge is available to customers with advisory visits possible if there is some doubt about selecting the right tree for the right purpose. Quotations, where required, are responded to quickly and efficiently with only the trees available at the nursery at the time quoted for.

All Barcham staff are involved in an ongoing and constantly developing training programme. This includes the use of both internal and external training facilitators to ensure Barcham is able to develop technically and professionally in line with the ever increasing sophistication of the arboricultural industry.

Customers are welcomed to the nursery at all times and encouraged to select the trees they require. This has to be by appointment but there will always be a member of the sales team ready and willing to ‘walk the nursery’ with both prospective and existing customers. Barcham places a huge emphasis on customer care and is always interested in not only supplying trees but in the success of those trees once planted.
