A beautiful small tree with a rounded, somewhat flat-topped growth.

The bark is most attractive, being mottled with grey and pink, while the small, dark green leaves turn flame red in autumn.

The deep rose pink flowers, with their crimped petals, are borne late in summer but are only initiated following intensely hot conditions.

A lovely subject for sheltered gardens and courtyards.
