The Cornelian Cherry gives a very long period of interest.
From February onwards when the small, yellow flowers appear on the bare twigs this Cornus puts on a great display. The bright red, cherry-like fruits are edible, and the leaves turn a delightful reddish purple in autumn. Often grown as a multi-stem bush, we have managed to raise ours on a single stem to 1.8m with a well balanced and compact crown. A very good choice for parks.
It thrives on most soils.
Mature height: 10m
