What is a feathered tree?

This is an arborist term used to describe a tree with branching all the way from the very base of the stem up the trunk.  This type of tree does NOT have a clear stem.

The majority of our trees have a full clear stem, meaning the crown starts at 1.8-2.0m up the stem, A half startard being only 90cm-1.0m up the stem and thus a  feathered being a tree with branching all of the way down the stem.

If you have specific requirements regarding a feathered/clear stem tree, please contact a member of the Barcham Team so we can check stock for you.
