RHS show a Tatton Park July 19th to 23rd 2006 The decision was made back in the autmn of 2005 that Barcham Trees would exhibit at the RHS show at Tatton Park in Cheshire, having completed the application forms, we then waited until February of 2006 to receive the invitation to exhibit.
As with all exhibition work the degree of success is down to the support from within the company, and there was no shortage of that. Barcham Trees PLC, Europe’s largest container tree nursery, has set-up three regional UK offices in Sussex, Cheshire and east Suffolk so that staff can be closer to its clients and can offer them an improved service. Barcham are currently carrying out extensive trials sponsored by WRAP into the potential for using green waste as a peat replacement in their potting compost.
Currently Barcham uses a peat/ bark compost with the now infamous grog (brick waste) used to keep the compost open. The trials have been set up alongside Rainbow-Wilson Associates to assess the viability of using the green waste compost known as PAS 100 and obtained from Donarbon Ltd of Waterbeach, Cambridgeshire as an alternative to peat. Barcham Trees PLC, Europe’s largest container tree nursery, has set-up three regional UK offices in Sussex, Cheshire and east Suffolk so that staff can be closer to its clients and can offer them an improved service. The company’s head office remains at its 140 acre nursery site at Ely, Cambridgeshire.
