What does it mean if a tree is clear stemmed or standard?
This is an arborist term used to describe the height at which the canopy, or crown of the tree starts.
The majority of our trees have a full clear stem, meaning the crown starts at 1.8-2.0m up the stem, A half startard being only 90cm-1.0m up the stem and feathered being a tree with branching all of the way down the stem.
If you have specific requirements regareding the height of the clear stem on your tree, please contact a member of the Barcham Team so we can check stock for you.
